Other Opportunities to Learn & Work with Dr. Sarah Sue

~ 1:1 or Private Groups ~

Herbal Medicine

Herbal Medicine Walks, Outings & Experiences

Aside from teaching in the clinic setting, classroom & virtually, Sarah Sue finds great joy teaching in the field… forest, trail, backyard. Wherever she goes, she is good at finding plant friends along the way. She loves introducing them, sharing her love & wonder for the plants, as well as honoring the land. Outings include plant identification basics, herbal education, medicinal properties of the plants, sustainable wildcrafting & harvesting practices, herbal processing, medicine making, exploring plant energetics, storytelling, honing skills of listening and observing the wonders around you, as well as fostering a deeper connection to the land. Sarah Sue has leading herb walks for 10+ years. Want to get to know your plant neighbors, friends and allies? Coordinate your own herb walk and experience, either 1:1 or a private group. This can be a hike into the hills, or simply stepping out in your own backyard. All ages, abilities & levels are welcome.

 Somatic Movement, Embodiment, & Dance

Emotions, patterns, memories, trauma, & past events are often stored in the body, in the tissues, and DNA (ex. epigenetics). The body has the ability and opportunity to release these in many ways… craniosacral therapy, family constellation work, soul work, mind-body medicine, biofeedback, as well as dance are powerful & effective therapeutics Sarah Sue has used with her patients & clients over her years of practice.

Emotion is “to move.” They were never meant to get settled in the body and stay stuck. Soma of “somatic” simple means “body” in Greek. Returning to our bodies is a powerful act in healing. When one is able to move in intentional and intuitive ways, there can be release of what no longer serves. It is also tapping into the body’s wisdom, creativity, imagination, expression, as well as play.

These sessions begin with a gathering and sharing of intentions, followed by grounding, a guided warm-up, and entry into a somatic release and dance practice.  Dance is not just performance, it is art, a ritual, a prayer, a tool, a form of activism, and an honoring of our body as the sacred temple it is.

Testimonials

Dancing Into Healing with Sarah Sue - No prior experience is needed—only a willingness to move your body freely, without expectation. Sarah Sue gently guides you on a grounding and healing journey through music and dance. While often held in natural settings, her work is equally powerful indoors. Through her dance journeys, she helps you connect deeply with your inner being, reclaim your power, and release what no longer serves you. The experience is meditative, relaxing, and energizing all at once.

If you are fortunate enough to dance with Sarah Sue, I wholeheartedly recommend it. You will not be disappointed—and most likely, you’ll find yourself craving more.

Journey Through the Chakras

What IS a chakra?

Chakras, in general, are areas in our bodies ~ physical & energetic bodies ~ where there is an accumulation of energy and activity. The word chakra translates to “wheels” or “discs” of light, energy & movement, in Sanskrit. Interestingly, over my years of study in medical school, clinical setting & my past teachings of anatomy, I have found that there are very important anatomical features located at each chakra location - nerve bundles, organs, glands, vessels, etc. When these energies are blocked, congested, deficient, it can impact physical parts of that area, and symptoms can manifest.

Soul informs body. Energy influences the physical.

Besides anatomy & location, chakras involve other elements & themes connected to them. For example, chakra medicines include elements, colors, senses, energies, meditations, healing modalities and practices, internal & external actions to strengthen or balance. And, of course, a favorite over here ~ herbs & botanicals.

I honor the original lineage bearers of the chakra systems, including the Ayurvedic and Hindu traditions from India. I also honor the more modern teachers including Anodea Judith (whose book we use as our main textbook for this series).

Dr. Sarah Sue will guide and facilitate your journey through each chakra, in a grounded, supportive, and enlightening way. Each chakra will have a dedicated amount of time for exploration, balancing, and aligning.

What you will receive ~

  • regular sessions ~ 1-2 sessions / month

  • location & anatomy where each chakra resides

  • energies, themes & lessons connected to each chakra

  • symptom considerations when a chakra is blocked, congested or deficient

  • chakra-specific correspondences & medicines - herbal, botanical, nutritional, elemental, ceremonial, cultural

  • naturopathic tools & philosophy

  • practical & accessible practices to care for each chakra

  • chakra-specific herbal formulations

  • recorded guided visualizations & meditations to help connect you to that specific chakra energy

  • other chakra-specific gifts & invitations for you and your personal Journey Through the Chakras

Testimonial from a prior student of “Journey through the Chakras” series

“I would highly recommend any course offered by Dr. Sarah Sue. She teaches these courses because she has a love for these subjects and wants to share the knowledge with anyone who is open to it. I love her teaching style and how she approaches natural healing. She is rooted in science and practicality, while also bringing magic and spirit to the topic.

Her Journey Through The Chakras course really was a journey for me to get more in touch with myself and the world around me. And the learning did not stop at the end of the course, the knowledge she gave us was a key to open a door.

The world is a difficult place to reside in right now, there is much suffering that is purposely inflicted so the “powers that be” can keep that power. Many people side with the ruling class because they are not in touch with themselves and the energies of the universe and the world around them. Learning about yourself makes you a more empathetic person, and when you are more empathetic you are able to go out into the world and embrace your fellow human with understanding instead of judgment. The world could always use more of that. One kind gesture towards a stranger causes a ripple effect, eventually ripples can become waves or even a hurricane. Positive change is possible, and it begins within.”

“Doula” comes from Greek, meaning “one who serves.”

I serve those in a powerful rite of passage into parenthood. It is a sacred service and honor to do this work. Aside from serving or attending one in labor, I also offer support leading up to birth, including nutrition, mental & emotional support, birthing classes and family constellation work that helps address, clear and heal any past family trauma. As a mother, I also understand how deeply we need postpartum care. It is a community effort. My doula support extends to the postpartum experience, including supporting the body’s healing, processing the birth, craniosacral therapy, and supporting the process of transformation into motherhood.

Contact me if you are interested in attending one of my birthing classes or coordinating your own birthing class group.
